3.      Computer Provider Order Entry (CPOE)	Emily Downing and Veronica Polinske ·         Emily Downing presented the history of project, A3 Plan development, current status and focus of project.  Scope of pilot project is Pres Homes and Point Click Care.  Much group discussion about the pilot, implications for non-Pres Homes, non-PCC EMR systems, provider work expectations, cross coverage, After Hours call, duplicate documentation of orders in both facility and care system EMRs, etc.  Looking at 3-year development/ implementation plan. Overall goal is for Metro Alliance to have input into CPOE before it is “required” to help meet the provider needs as well. Do not expect efficiency improvements re: provider time; at best, anticipate equivalent time spent. Improvements are expected in decreased order processing time, fewer call backs to “clarify” orders. ·         Demo of Practitioner Engagement Mobile app (iPhone only) through PCC for the group. Contains most of info that you find in PCC facility version, but not all. Not all facilities have purchased mobile access, so may not be available at all facilities. Can sign orders, review labs, notes on patients.	·         If other facilities have PCC and wish to be part of the pilot, let Emily know. The current pilot group can be broadened. ·         Practice leaders to contact Veronica Polinske at: vpolinske@preshomes.org to set up portal training for their providers that go in to PHS facilities. ·         Practice leaders to send Veronica the name and contact information of someone within their practice that could help streamline the PCC access process at PHS facilities. ·         Update group with pilot status at each meeting. ·         Presentation to be posted to the website
4.      Antibiotic stewardship project	Cassandra Parker and Cathy Lauring ·         Partnership between MDH, Stratis, Metro Alliance ·         Antibiotic stewardship programs are required to be in place in all nursing facilities by November 2017 ·         Cassandra Parker (DNP student) gave an update to the group.  MDH/Stratis preferred to implement a 1- facility pilot and then expand to other facilities. Initial focus is on asymptomatic UTIs. ·         Steve Atkinson has a checklist for potential “UTIs” and share with the group ·         Discussion about antibiotic de-escalation after 48 hours and minimal duration of therapy.	1.      Add “potential infection/UTI” checklist to website 2.      John Mielke volunteered to share antibiotic conference info at next meeting
5.      Current Alliance SHO	Alison Romstad, Cathy Lauring, Robyn Hastings, Cherrie Montgomery ·         Updated in January ·         No new issues	1.      Standing House Orders posted on website 2.      Continue encouraging use/dissemination
3.      High Risk Medication Education project	Vanessa Kasper and Ali Romstad. Vanessa reviewed website, links. ·         Site has been live for 6 months now. Finalizing survey results.	1.      Update group on final survey results. 2.      Encourage use of education materials
4.      AH Coumadin/INR project	Lori Wenker ·         Due to changes from paper charts to computerized EMRs, former system developed not as effective. Looking for other technology avenues to utilize.  On hold for now. Would like to partner with DNP student for future project. ·         Goal is to minimize AH calls for anti-coagulation meds when INRs/labs come back after 5 pm	1.      Please share with Metro Alliance team any technology solutions that have been working for AH INR/anti-coagulation orders
5.      Patient Satisfaction project	Julia Christ ·         Some data coming in, anticipate more data soon. Few kinks in the system that are being worked on. ·         Considering alternative options to paper survey (ie: email, telephonic survey)	1.      Update group next meeting with results
6.      Common Quality Metrics for SNF partners  project	Julia Christ ·         Larger care systems having quarterly/regular meetings with SNFs to review standardized score card for TCU quality metrics. ·         Developed a template they can share with the group	1.      Update group next meeting with template, overall status
7.      Stratis Health update	Jane Pederson ·         MMDA is undergoing changes to the organization; forming MN Association of Geriatric Inspired Clinicians or “MAGIC”	1.      More to come at upcoming meetings
